    Jermain Taylor

I'm seeing a bunch of Hopkins appreciation but none for Taylor. You'd think if this was a "close fight" you guys would give respect for both fighters? Give him his credit, he beat a legend. And if you believe he didn't, he went neck-at-neck with a legend, his credit is due.

alright, now this is the thing that's going to piss me off. Hopkins appreciation is not for what he's done against Taylor or "recently" like most anything you could possibly say about Taylor, it's about what he's done in his CAREER. You tell me what has Taylor done in his CAREER to deserve anything like this?

Very true. I think it's hard to judge how well Taylor will do against other elite fighters, because Bernard had a way of making him look bad and amateurish. Maybe it's because Hopkins is really that good, or maybe it's because Taylor does not have the smarts to fight crafty fighters at that level. We'll find out soon enough, I suppose. Overall, he gave Hopkins a better fight than anyone since Roy Jones.

Lol Greatest if you respect any fighter that fights then you wouldn't call people bums like you constantly do.

And Blitz, don't expect much, the only people on this board are either A)Bandwagon Bitches or B)Deluded Hopkins fans...No one is going to give Taylor credit because he beat a "40 year old Hopkins" when in fact when Hopkins was in his prime he would of been KOed by Taylor.

I think Taylor is still too flaky out there for people to really take to him. He has to build on this success and do something more impressive to get himself a better reputation.

Full credit to him as the undisputed and unquestionable next-in-line middleweight champ. This fight was close, he nearly blew it when he let Hopkins take him off his game in the late-middle rounds, but he came back as a champ to get it in the end. Now he has to work on his consistency and calm his nerves and put together a legacy.

I know, which is exactly why I only browse here and try not to post. Everyone was giving credit to Hopkins for putting up a good fight, I don't see why the champion doesn't deserve one.

The problem is you have 2 elite fighters, you obviously won't be getting a very one-sided fight, both fighters deserve their credit.

alright tony, let me put it this way... come back here in... well, about 25 years and then we'll do this and see what his acomplishments are. So he "beat" Bernard Hopkins twice, what else? I'm saying 'career' acomplishments overall. There is no 'overall' for Taylor, at least not yet. And I feel like making this thread is basically just trying to contradict the hopkins ones.
