    No, the ref did not have a standing 8 count option. Standing 8 count in pro Boxing means the ropes held you up from a knockdown. Not in the middle of the ring

      I didn't think their was a standing 8 count btw. I was just searching for any possible explanation for what the ref did.

      I really don't have to search any further for reason, it was Ian John-Lewis.
