The Olympics have been drug testing for YEARS. They have an excellent program. Right?

Yet guys get caught EVERY WEEK. People are CONSTANTLY getting caught. And some of the people getting caught are in amateur sports with zero hope of making money (like rowing. Or powerlifting).

So, why wouldn't a professional boxer with millions of dollars on the line try to beat the system?

People cheat. They are competitive. They are greedy. They are ambitious. Whatever.

I think people sometimes confuse guys being humble with guys that are shy around the media or not as savvy. Lamont just seems like a quiet guy and it showed in contrast to someone like Khan who is very boisterous with the media. We don't know LP from anybody else in his personal life and how he acts around people he is comfortable with.
This sounds to me like a guy that took something early or before camp that thought it would be out of his system by the time testing came and got caught.

I'd wait till hear more from the situation. It's not rare that an athlete can take something without knowing. Tests sometimes are so strict that something in certain shampoos can have you come up positive. Especially in boxing when you aren't a high profile athlete, or seeing a doctor for everything you take I could see Lamonts team not being aware of what's in a substance and giving it to Lamont and as we all are aware a boxer doesn't question is team, they're like family.

I'd wait to see exactly what happened before making ignorant statements like "Lamont was scared" or "Lamont thought he could cheat the system."
