Oh you watched the fight live? That explains things. I feel like if you watched it live with the crowd cheering and seeing Floyd on the ropes alot it looks like Cotto won. When you watch it on TV or on the CPU you see just how many punches Floyd rolled, slipped, blocked and straight made him miss.
Yeah, I want to rewatch it for sure. Unless you are in the very expensive seats you can't really tell whats being slipped. When Cotto got him pinned I certainly would glimpse up to see if meaningful shots were being landed.
I gave Cotto 4 rounds. The right guy won the fight, but HBO & Boxnation blew so much smoke up Mayweather's ass that people are claiming that the fight wasn't close.
I scored 3 of the rounds even, 4 to Cotto and 5 to Mayweather. 116-115 Mayweather.
I only realized how close most of the rounds were when I watched it 2nd time around. I had Cotto leading by a point going into the 11th, but Floyd's stamina in those rounds was (just about) too much for Miguel.
I'd pay to see a rematch in MSG, where Cotto might have a shot at getting a scorecard that is in some way fair(10-2 is ridiculous!).
Its like everyone changed their scoring criteria for this fight or something. Floyd threw more, landed more, was more active and aggressive , got hit less, and he did this in almost every round, yet for some reason ppl seemed to have saw something different. I'm almost positive its either hate, fanboyism or the novelty of seeing the man get hit more than usual. Either way its pretty crazy.
max kellerman put it best
"Harold Lederman, the (HBO) unofficial ringside television judge, gave the third round to Castillo, which I think demonstrates that Mayweather suffers from the same scoring syndrome that afflicted Pernell Whitaker. Mayweather is so seldom hit cleanly in his face, that when a clean shot is landed against him it registers all out of proportion in the observer's mind. Meanwhile, the three clean shots Mayweather just landed against his opponent do not make the same kind of impression."
i'll add that when floyd gets bullied on the ropes, people automatically think every punch thrown at him is landing. same thing happened with ortiz and here with cotto.
I keep seeing multiple people saying they scored 2 or more even rounds~
A judge should pretty much never score an even round, it is a very wishy washy way to score a round and there is always something to pick out and pick a winner.
Scoring more than 1 round even pretty much negates the value of a scorecard because no real judge should or would ever score more than 1 even round in a fight. The only exception being if points are getting deducted, which isn't the case here.
I gave him 5 rounds. Cotto had a good game plan. Its a shame he ran out of gas to really put any pressure on floyd the last 2 rounds. Would have made it interesting. Obviously not in the eyes of the judges because there scorecards were turrible, but for us fans on here.

those rounds Floyd outworked him threw more an landed more its obvious they are just looking for rounds to take away from Floyd.
I want to know if those same people had 7 even rounds for JMM vs Pacquiao
