Comments Thread For: McCloskey vs Corley Early Fight Results From Ireland

The first quarterfinal of the Irish middleweight Prizefighter series turned into a bloody brawl between WBA #11 ranked 160lber Anthony Fitzgerald and former amateur standout Eamonn O'Kane. Fitzgerald started immensely spirited and tried to bully O'Kane with all kind of punches, both legitimate and not, in the first. O'Kane survived this early squall and started to retaliate in the second. Fitzgerald suffered a bad cut over his forehead in the second, and this affected his performance from that point on. O'Kane was able to end the fight with clearly more telling blows.

I remember Corley giving Mayweather a good battle back in the days. Rocked Cotto too in their fight. Like Zab he loses concentration during fights. That's why he'll always be a contender. Good for him though.

DeMarcus Corley - 59 have tried, 39 have failed.

That was a good stoppage. Sky commentator Jim Watt is getting senile every fight I cringe at his commentating

Funny listening to Watt going crazy like it's the worst stoppage ever when McCloskey was clearly out on his feet and Corley would have stopped him straight away anyway had it gone on & he was still out of it sitting in the corner after and in the interview.
