That line from Merchant; "Floyd has to be 1000% sure he's going to win"...regarding the selection of opponents, is basically an excuse in advance for Merchant to dismiss all of Mayweathers opponents and performances no matter who they are. Going by this "logic", he could choose, fight and then beat Canelo, Pacquiao and then Martinez in sucession ....but because he chose to do so then it doesn't count as he was sure of himself to win.

So, the day we see the promotional material for a fight entitled "Mayweather Vs Mystery opponent to be revealed the day before the fight"....only then should we give Floyd credit.

It makes you wonder who deserves the most criticism; Merchant for coming out with these obviously biased and contradictory comments....or the management at HBO for not pulling the plug already.

Cotto destroyed and outclassed Gomez, also Cotto's lightweight brother had Canelo on ***** street in the first round.
