HBO Sports has announced that its flagship "World Championship Boxing" series will expand to as many as 14 broadcast dates in 2006, up from 10 broadcast dates in 2005. In addition, HBO’s "Boxing After Dark" series will expand to a monthly format in 2006, up from five dates in 2005. "Boxing continues to be a passion for those of us at HBO Sports," said Ross Greenburg, president of HBO Sports. "More important, our subscribers are extremely dedicated fans of the sport and we’re committed to presenting even more action and drama in 2006 across all the major weight divisions of the sport." For World Championship Boxing and HBO Pay-Per-View telecasts, the broadcast team will continue to be Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant plus either Roy Jones Jr. or Emanuel Steward and Harold Lederman is the unofficial scorer. An all new broadcast team will be hired to work the Boxing After Dark shows that resume in the spring.

I wouldn't be suprised if they cut Roy Jones Jr. due to his problems inside the ring. He's bringing a bad name to HBO.Originally posted by DamonGA more fights on free TV wouldn't hurt either, but I'm good with it, even I though I can't stand the HBO crew outside of Roy, who is usually on point with his analysis.Comment
