You have to try to understand Mayweather's way of thinking first to understand his ridiculous comments. He just said he was speaking his mind, so obviously you have to try and think in his terms. And as recent history shows us, Mayweather might be believing a true champion is a somewhat credible opponent with a good balance of low-risk and high-reward in the current marketplace.

boxingmaster would you like to bet on the fight? i'll bet cotto is bleeding by the 4th rd and or that cotto doesn't win more than 4rds on the cards. Just curious, if margs(slow as sht) can hit cottos face, what do you think floyd is gonna do? actually, i agree that styles make fights, but a bleeder and a cutter against a very acurate puncher, aswell as a guy who is ALWAYS tired after the 10th rd against a guy who NEVER gets tired? this is a very easy fight to pick imo peace yall

2)The other(what ever that means)WBA¿? title holder Austin Trout who's a good fighter, but hasn't really fought anyone to make him the true champion of the division.
3)IBF Corneluis"K9" Bundradge who just like Trout hasn't fought anyone to make him Top Dog in the division.
4)WBO Zaurbek Baysangurov from Russia who's basically unheard of & became a titleholder when Dzinzuruk was stripped & Baysangurov was KO'd by Bundradge, so that wouldn't make him the top champ at 154lbs..
The ONLY one that has Top Of The Line opponents on his resume & has fought them in their prime & that has the credentials & has earned to be the Top Champion at 154lbs is Cotto..& Foreman was undefeated when he beat at the time legitimate WBA world champ Daniel Santos by UD to earn the title, so for that matter he was the WBA legitimate champion when Cotto beat him, so that would make Cotto a true champion..& Don't come with the knee brace excuse cause Foreman was wearing that knee brace since the amateurs & had wore it threw out his pro career including when he beat Santos for the title..
Polishing a turd. Mighuel MIGHT be the best by default. The Foreman win was legit. A shot Margarito and Mayorga still leave very little to be excited about. You just basically proved that nobody @ 154 has yet to take charge to clearly become the man of the division.

Foreman may have been a legit champion, but let's be real. No one thought Foreman was the best champ in the division. None of the top champs have really fought each other. A win over a guy who wasn't seen as the best in the division regardless, doesn't make you the best in the division.

He says that he is prepared for his style so I hope that he brought in fighters that actually use his style. I know he could not use Ishe or Steve Forbes due to one training with Mayweather and the other preparing for a fight. So I hope they flew in some other young fighters that use Mayweathers style. It would suck if he had fighters that have never used the Philly Shell style trying to imitate it like Marquez did. Does anybody remember any news of Cotto bringing in sparring partners?

Cotto isnt lineal or undisputed champion but he is clearly the best guy and best champion at 154.

Cotto's best chance is early in the fight, landing those short rights. But I don't have Cotto down as a knockout puncher, more he breaks his opponents down. I can't see how he can possibly do that against Mayweather.
