This is simply PR to persuade the sports world that Floyd deserves more than 50/50 for a Mayweather-Pacquiao megafight. It also showcases Golden Boy as a better promoter since they can claim to provide "the biggest guarantee" over Top Rank.

In reality, all this actually does is further prevent the megafight from happening. Everyone already knows that 50/50 will make the fight happen and no credible sportswriter thinks Pacquiao deserves less.

Golden Boy's marketing strategy is smart, but very risky. Schaefer always makes bold predictions year after year that they will "break the PPV record". And now he can boast about "the biggest guarantee". That's the strategy. Schaefer is hoping that when people hear this kind of news, they will all want to be a part of it. Shrewd marketing is all about peer-pressure.

However if the gate & PPV buys are low for Mayweather-Cotto fight, then Golden Boy could get screwed financially. Remember, uncle *** Bob has always publicly claimed that Golden Boy is in financial trouble and neither Oscar nor Richard Schaefer have denied it.

The purses for all are under 45M I think.

This does not include what HBO make and GBP etc...

So I guess to earn a lot more, you need to do way over 1 mil.
