Did Cotto say "all levels" in which category? Business? Ability to duck?

Get off of Floyd's nuts already. You know what he said and what he met. No more ammunition for you to use on Floyd regarding "A prime/younger" Cotto anymore. Cotto said Floyd "Was a great champion" You guys are pathetic going around on Floyd threads and bashing him 24/7 acting like you hate the guy so much but give him so much attention. Just become fans and stop fighting the urge.

Ever heard of Cotto selling a fight under his new employer? There's a reason why Cotto told the truth in 2008. Can't stop the truth, son.

If you knew anything about the sport beside Manny Pacquiao you would know that Bob Arum did not want to make the fight happen at "SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT" Also, Cotto don't even talk much and when he does. All he has been doing is talking about beating Mayweather so why would he say that Floyd was levels above him back in the day? Cotto and Hatton was at the Gatti fight and could have got it first. Don't believe me? Ask Bob Arum......

"We're looking for guys like Ricky Hatton and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd Mayweather. So you're seeing now the finishing touches on the emerging superstar, and in 2006 hopefully he will be able to claim the mantle of the real, real superstar."

Hatton emerged as the recognized 140-pound champion with his TKO of Kostya Tszyu June 11. Mayweather, the pound-for-pound king who is also promoted by Arum, stopped Arturo Gatti to claim a junior welterweight title two weeks later.

Cotto against either man would certainly qualify as a super fight, but before either match can be explored seriously, he has to keep winning."
Doesn't this back up what Cotto just said in this article? Stop with the hate man. You're turning into a stalking, hater, groupie chick always on Mayweather articles talking B.S.

Me hating on Mayweather? I'm just sharing what the dude says at times.

Back then, way back then, Mayweather was asked on ESPN, "Why don't you step into the ring with Miguel Cotto?" Remember, this was a segment on video, sponsored by KFC (I'm not lying, go watch it), and not just audio or words in an article like what you do.

And what was Floyd's response? He said, "Because he lives in Puerto Rico." This line alone would help sell out their not sold out event. BUT NOOOOOOO...

Wait.... I was talking about Cotto. How did I start directly talking about Mayweather again? Oh, because you brought him up. You nuthugger you.

I give Cotto a real chance in this fight. I watched Cotto vs Pacquiao the other day, and what really stood out was that in pure boxing, Cotto had the upper hand. It wasn't really the first, or second punch that got to him. It was the third, fourth, fifth. Pacquiao throws storms of punches. On the first few, Cotto was even countering with good shots. Actually I didn't remember him hitting Pacquiao so hard, but on several occasions he lands really solid left counters. Normal boxers stop punching at that point, but Pacquiao fights fire with fire and eventually the heat is just too much for Cotto.

Mayweather rarely throws more than 2 punches at a time. I think he's going to have a lot of trouble catching Cotto clean, and Cotto will be looking to counter himself. A lot of Cotto's chances will come down to whether he ends up playing Mayweather's game (like Marquez did, for example) or whether he can stay disciplined and not get frustrated, and wait until the opportunities arrive.

Cotto has a good chin, Mayweather won't be dropping him on a single shot. Cotto also is not a shy fighter, he doesn't shell up when being hit, and will punch with Mayweather - which is what gave Mosley early success before he seemed to go head hunting.

Having watched back Cotto Pacquiao, and watched back a few other Cotto and Mayweather fights, I don't see anything other than a points victory for Mayweather or a shock KO result for Cotto. If I were a betting man, that'd be my main bet and straddle.

Lol did Cotto just say he didn't think of a Floyd fight back then because Floyd was levels above him in every way? And that now is the best time for the fight?

That's pretty funny, the 2007 killer has admitted himself to not being on Floyds level when people wanted to see that fight. He's an even lesser opponent now. He's lying to himself. He knows Floyd has always been and still is levels above him. Good on Miguel to say the truth.

I'm bookmarking your post because I agree with a lot of what you say. I think the likely result is Floyd decisioning him or, if Cotto is that damaged regardless of his conditioning and confidence, he gets stopped. But those two ifs are big keys. Miguel Cotto still uses his legs as if he were young. Floyd Mayweather does not. And if you had told me five years ago that the fight was going to play out in close quarters, I'd say it's going to be a hell of a fight for both guys.

Miguel Cotto is now fully settled in at 154 and it will show in his strength and power. He looks as if he's in fantastic shape. Will that matter against Mayweather? The odds say no. But I say that if those things, along with reborn confidence and a solid game plan, could surprise plenty of people on Saturday. Mayweather is too good for me to pick an upset here. But it won't be long. It won't be long.
