Sven Ottke Ottke never wanted Calzaghe

Hopkins signed to fight Joe then immediately backed out the next day and demanded twice the money

Roy Jones was always in a weight class above Calzaghe so how is that ducking?

Kelly Pavlik wanted Joe to move back down to 168 lbs or even lower for a catchweight fight.. we all saw what happened to that bum shortly after losing to Calzaghe's left overs

Chad Dawson was not a big enough name albeit a good fighter.

Only one where there is a possible point is Glen Johnson and even then after Calzaghe beat Lacy he went to Woods-Johnson with the hopes of fighting Johnson if he won.

            excuses..

it doesnt matter if pavlik got knocked out cold by chatlie z after joe declined to fight him, he was still a better challenge than jones. jones was a complete non challenge, it was a celebrity boxing event and not a real fight like tarver once put it. same thing applies to dawson. not a big name but a real fighter while roy was a corpse.

dont switch it like hopkins didnt want calzaghe. hopkins fought whoever brought the most money at that point in his career. joe wasnt it so he moved on, calzage on the other hand chose oponents based on the likelyhood that they would defeat him and wanted no parts of a prime hopkins. or a hopkins rematch after he got a gift decision in vegas for that matter.

he perhaps didnt duck prime jones but he wasnt exactly itching to fight him, we could say he kinda avoided him and it wasnt a blatant duck. had he been put on the spot he would have blatantly ducked him anyways so idk what diffrence it makes.

going to someones fight doesnt mean you really want to fight them. remember how cotto and hatton were at mayweather-gatti only to both decline an offer to fight floyd after. joe pulled a PR stunt, or maybe he wanted to learn something. who knows, all we know he didnt want to fight johnson. cant blame him on that one thoug.. the things johnson would have done to him are brutal, some medieval type ****.

I agree about Johnson, Jones, and Dawson. He could have easily fought Dawson or a Hopkins rematch instead of a Jones that was 4 years removed from even being a legit fight. And Johnson of course.

It's good to bring up just going to a fight doesn't mean anything since Hatton and Cotto both were there to watch Mayweather, and TR delicned to make Floyd-Cotto because "Cotto wasn't ready" and Hatton straight up said he wasn't ready when Floyd was saying he'd fight Hatton in the UK.

                  46 tried and 46 failed.

Bottom line is if he fought Pavlik etc beat him instead of Jones he would get no credit just like lacy. So Joe said **** this and went after the money.

He got credit for Lacy from me, it just didn't up being huge credit because Lacy never really did anything after that, and had done ehhh stuff before.

Calzaghe was 37 and you expect him to move down 7 lbs, possible 9 to fight Pavlik? Calzaghe made more fighting Jones than he would have made fighting Pavlik too.

Hopkins turned down the fight, not Calzaghe so how is that 'turning it on Hopkins?' when the fight eventually happened it was Joe who went to America not the other way around.

You admitted yourself he didn't duck Jones.. so why say it?
