Comments Thread For: Porpramook Grabs a Controversial Nod Over Taconing

Filipino southpaw Jonathan "Lightning" Taconing’s brave effort to win the World Boxing Council light flyweight title from Kompayak Porpramook, and add to the collection of world champions led by pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao, was thwarted by what promoter Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde claimed was a robbery in Buriram, Thailand, Thursday.

scores were starange: 1 had it 5-0 in rounds another even, but @ 47-47 , there's no way 4 that w/no knockdowns or points taken away...the Thai's only average so mayb he gives Hernandez a rematch in Mex...very tuff boxing in Thailand under the hot sun at 3 in the afternoon...

This is one of the main reasons why open scoring is bull****.

After 4 rounds in a WBC fight, they announce the scores. So in the 5th round, the Thai fighter and his team knew they were winning. The ref knew this as well. By stopping it in the 5th and calling it an accidental headbutt, they all knew the win was already in the bag. At 22:00 and again at 22:20 the video, the ringside physician pulled out a red card while smiling ear to ear. This means he is officially recommending the fight to be stopped. Porpramook's left eye wasn't even swollen or bleeding at all.

          Total, complete bull****.

The other big story on the card was that Teerachai was stopped by a journeyman. Teerachai was seen by some as a Thai with potential to grab a world belt up at 147.

Lol, he doesn't have a chance at getting a 147 belt.. maybe an interim belt

There was a lot of hope on his shoulders and at just 20 years old he'd not be competing with the likes of Mayweather of Pacquiao for them
