Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Certain Weight Won't Play a Role

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is certain weight won’t be an issue Saturday night.

Miguel Cotto might be completely comfortable at 154 pounds, but Mayweather is confident his speed and skill advantages will negate any perceived disadvantage he’ll face by moving up from welterweight to junior middleweight to encounter Cotto.

Floyd is taller, has longer reach, is bigger, faster, more elusive and more intelligent.
Come fight night,Cotto will just beat up the way Gatti was. What's worse is his skin cuts too easiley

Well it played a part in why DLH was so competitive with Floyd for most of their fight at 154, granted Oscar was a better fighter than Cotto. It wouldn't be too much of a surprise if it did.

Off course it plays a part when its real weight , Cotto and Oscar where not drained first they are at full strength with a 154 weigh-in its means a lot , I dont think Floyd was as ready for this weight against Oscar as he is now , in those days he could have made 140 , today I think he is a full WW , Floyd is very strong I dont think people realize how physically strong Floyd is , his strength was always hidden behind his style .

Ofcourse weight won't be a factor. Cotto is not a real JMW!!! He's a WW fighting at JMW. Real JMW's are Alfredo Angulo, Paul Williams (even though he started at WW), Saul Alvarez, James Kirkland, and Sergio Martinez (Sergio is not a real MW and can still make 154 comfortably), etc.... Not to say that these fighters would beat Mayweather, just that they're real JMW's where the weight difference would be a factor!

The fight of the year is indeed a war. However, this year is the end of the world for some people nevertheless Mayweather's fans are going to be disappointed and very upset Sunday morning. LOL
