I haven't seen those fights, but i was just making the point that one bad performance doesn't make you a fraud.
He might not have looked good since Jacobs, but he's still winning.

Ishida is one tough warrior. From what I have seen, Ishida has a very high workrate and a proper chin. What he didn't display in the Williams and Pirog fight was landing those punches.
Pirog always settles with what is to land, when he feels his opponent is teak tough. Therefore he sticks to chess match tactics by trying to land as many as he can. That's what he did. For the fans of knockouts this was upsetting, but Pirog always rises to the occation. Jacobs was mobile and here he tried other ways to reach his goal.
Before the Jacobs fight I had many post replies with users at ********boxing saying Pirog is too flatfooted or too slow. In the Jacobs fight speed, timing and defense made the difference.
I don't say Pirog will beat Martinez, but his adaptability and skill level, timing, defense, make him a very awkward and tough opponent for Martinez. Hence DiBella is not really looking to the prospect of having his fighter put in with a wildcard.
I still think that Pirog has the tools to beat Martinez in a very tough fight.
First I hope for the unifiction and exposure on US soil.Last edited by sweet-s; 05-01-2012, 02:36 PM.

Pirog didn't look that good tonight, but Martinez looked bad against Darren Barker, you can't look good every fight, Ishida has an iron chin.

The fight was actually quite enjoyable, better than let's say Chavez jr. vs some bum... my only criticism is that Dima got hit too much and that he did not get the knockout after those left hooks he landed.

It was more the high volume than handspeed. Plus he wasn't badly troubled by it anyway. I think Martinez beats Pirog but all I'm saying is give him a chance, let's see what happens in the Pirog/Geale fight if it happens.

The punch stats actually said Ishida outlanded Pirog by 30 punches. If he only had some resemblance of power.
Wow I didn't even know Ishida outlanded him. Seems like a little homecooking

The Klitschkos may dominate the weak heavyweight division but Eastern Euros don't dominate anywhere else.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 05-01-2012, 04:05 PM.
