    Myth busted regarding Ali-Cooper fight

The BBC's "More or Less" radio programme recently busted a myth regarding the Ali-Cooper fight (or Clay-Cooper as it was at the time). They timed the break between rounds, and apparently the gloves incident only added 6 seconds to the time Ali had to recover between rounds - which is not enough to have been likely to change the course of the fight. You can listen to the programme here. The programme lasts 10 minutes, but the item about the fight starts 5 minutes 30 seconds in, so you can use the slider to go straight to the start of the item.

The radio transmission issue is nothing new.

The break saving Ali is a myth,it only lasted about 70 seconds,so just 10 over the normal break.

It lasted exactly six seconds over the normal break. That was the point of this thread. That and the fact that the myth is still being perpetuated in the media.
