why did de la hoya go down to 147 to fight manny?

i thought he called the shots, he was the cash cow, breaking records.

would the fight of ever happened at 154?

why did he drain himself? the 34 yr old against mayweather didnt look bad at all.

He hadnt made that weight in years, why did he say, yeah, lets do it at 147, what was he thinking?

man, would of loved to have seen a 154 Oscar against manny.

The outcome most likely would of been the same, manny would of been to fast, but i just want to know why Oscar went to 147.

could drugs have made oscar delusional?

Because he thought he could beat a guy well above his optimum weight (let's not forget his other option was Ricky Hatton, who'd looked poor at 147). But he got it badly wrong and came in drained against a guy who was much faster and stronger than he'd expected.

People do crazy things for money and Oscar made a calculated mistake that ending up being an absolute diasaster. People can call me a hater if they want but I think the De La Hoya that fought Mayweather would have stopped Pacquiao in no less than 6 rounds. Manny simply can't handle versatile fighters who know how to hit him and not get hit. Look at how a past prime Marquez managed to expose him. De La Hoya would have done the same thing but far more convincingly because he had a better jab and much more punching power.

Because the fight would have been a pathetic, indefensible joke if he had made it at 154. Oscar thought he could beat up the lightweight midget at 147, f***ed up, and got his ass handed to him.

fishnets was scared shitless of Tony
was supposed to fight the Tony-Cotto winner
it wasn't the winner he thought it would be
so why not pick a fight with the LW midget?
loved seeing that faggot get destroyed and retired by Pac

He was thinking that 147 was the only possible chance that people wouldn't sh** all over him cherry picking a lightweight.
