I started my boxing career at the time bernard put trinidad on his ass and unified the middleweight title, he was 35 then.
My boxing career ended years ago and im growing fatter by the houre, yet Bernard is pushing 50 and are fighting for the LH world title, and has a decent shot and winning it.

100 years from now when all you piss ants are dead and gone Hopkins will be remembered more so then many of fighters that fight today because of who he is and what he accomplished in his career .

      Show the man some respekt
nobody is saying he hasnt accomplished anything,,,just questioning lettermans comment about his outstanding ight comment ...hopkins has style at times makes for boring fights he holds too much,,,maybe tonight will be one of those

I always enjoyed watching Hopkins fights. Even though they might not be scintillating the way he picks his shots and the smart subtle movements he makes are a pleasure to view. You can learn from him in all of his fights.

I personally dont find his style boring at all, but to each his own.

I think what letterman means is that since there is so much at stake in this fight it could bring the best out of the two men and make it interresting.

Everyone has a style they love or at least like.

I don't like his style, I like action, put him in with an action fighter makes for a better fight.

I like a fighter to be intense and get more intense as the fight goes on.

I like a fight with PUNCH, KO in both hands

I like a boxer puncher that can box your ears off but you are going down sometime soon.

I like styles like Hagler , he would mop the floor with HOPKINS

So tonite if Dawson don't get the job done in style and convincing without a doubt, in KO or beat down throw in the towel then I will have no respect for Dawson.

IF Hopkins KO's Dawson I will have great respect for HOPKINS

I remember watching the old mongoose , that is what HOPKINS , fighting late in life, putting his life on the line, but he's got to come up with a good win or he needs to forget it.

IF this was PPV it would flop if they were dependent on me to buy it.

I have to disagree about Hagler, although I think Hagler takes a narrow decision no-one really mops the floor with a prime Hopkins.

Hey dont get me wrong its not just the Ward and Hopkins type of fighters I like.
Maidana in the Kahn and ortiz fight is proberly the fIghter that got my adrenalin pumping the best.

Btw Roy jones IMO had it all in one packets

There is just something about hopkins will and ring smarts that I admire.
I started Boxing late and Hopkins was a big inspiration to me because he literally showed that if you want it bad enough and are willing to do the grind age is not the be all end all factor.

I couldn't possibly be going in with lower expectations. So as long as they don't both quit on their stools during introductions, I don't see anyway this fight disappoints me.
