Quick stoppage? He was pounding the crap out of him.

      agreed
he had no idea where he was or what had happened long after the fight

i can almost garantee he remembers nothing after that first right hand he took.

even if he did get up he was just going to start taking unanswered punishment again

if the ref doesnt stop a fight at that stage you're risking a man's life.

You cant gaurantee shat dude..Were you in his head? Sillakh took 15 straight punches from Grachev , 6-7 square on the chin and never was KO'ed, was defending himself with his hands up before the last right that sent him into the ropes and he was still able to hold himself without completely falling to the canvas, a fighter who is out on his feet cant hold up his 175lb body falling to the ground with one hand in a boxing glove, grabbing the ropes. He would be limp and go straight to the floor. Ref could have given a 10 count but didnt. Give him a count determine then if he can continue.
Who is to say. That would have ended the round and given him some time to get it together. He deserved that as the undefeated champion defending his title. He wasnt going to take another shot until the 9th round , let his corner decide between rounds. We will never know.I think he would have held on for the win, I have seen fighter look worse continue and win.

Sillakh was done. What most don't realize is Sillakh had a suspect chin before he turned pro. He was knocked out a number of times as an amateur and his biggest flaw besides his chin was how he squares up and stands straight up making his chin a target. Teddy noticed his flaws and they were exploited in the fight. Good stoppage.

His chin is ok its how he reacted that was the problem. The chin is what it is . The reaction to the hard shot on the button was the problem. Easily fixed.
I would love to see a rematch between Grachev and Sillakh.

I'm a little dumbfounded at all the people calling him a hype job. He was dominating the fight, and he got caught. Sure, he has some areas that need improving, but he can still have a damn successful career in the sport.

I assume there will be a rematch, and Sillakh will again be a big favorite.

In short, stop overreacting every time someone loses.

What this fight proved was that Sillakh can take 15 good shots from Grachev without going down and Grachev may go down with one shot from Sillakh .Sillakh is by far the better boxer, and Sillakh needs to ajust the way bhe reacts when he takes a good shot.Thats all. Grachev will never be a better boxer than Sillakh.Sillakh has much more potentialin boxing IMO. We will see in the rematch.
