1st of all, Wlad stopped Mercer by TKO, not by KO. He did knock him down, but Mercer got up and was a punching bag for 5 more rounds until it was stopped (with Mercer on his feet).

2nd, the shots in the Briggs fight looked innocent, but they were on the temple. He wasn't anticipating the shot, and got clocked on the temple / eardrum area.

Mercer is 44 and completly shot.

This was not fixed, and not shocking.

Just my opinion though

Also, in fights earlier Mercer had been blasted with shots by Morrison & Lennox Lewis to almost no effect and 3 fairly small shots put him down...just looked fishy to me.

He wasn't 44 and coming off concussions from being embarassed in KO losses in MMA.

The shots were to the side of the head, and it was Mercer's fault he was tangled up like he was.

I don't have a problem with it, as sad a display as it was.

I was very stunned when he got knocked down by those shots. He was very old so I think that he just laid down because of all the punishment he took over the years. Just very stunning to me, because I have seen him take A LOT more punishment. But I see your point Bozo.
