The replay shows it was Dawson who came into contact with Hopkins as he was coming up. That didn't look intentional to me.

it's a fundamental aspect of his style at this stage. that specific headbutt wasnt perhaps premeditated, but you've got to figure that the contact is a product of his leading with the head even if that specific clash of heads was incidental.
