Comments Thread For: Robert Ortiz Survives, Kameda Wins, Urango Snags KO

Expo Bancomer Santa Fe, Mexico City - WBC silver 140-pound champion Roberto "Massa" Ortiz (24-0-1, 20KOs) was about to be knocked out in the last round, but he managed to hang on to win a split decision over twelve rounds against Javier Prieto (16-6, 11KOs). Ortiz was fading the last two rounds and made the mistake of standing and trading with Prieto often. He appeared to be on the verge of getting stopped in the twelfth, but by some miracle he stayed on his feet. The scores were 113-115 for Prieto, and 115-112, 115-113 in favor of Ortiz.

Good to hear Urango had a successful comeback. Though it sounds like he may find himself in a legal bind for taking this fight.
