Andre Ward not happy with losing his WBC title

Earlier today, the WBC announced that WBC super middleweight champion was being moved from the regular WBC champion to Champion in recess due to Ward’s left hand injury. The WBC then designed that #1 WBC contender Anthony Dirrell would face #3 WBC contender Nikola Sjekloca for Ward’s WBC title.

Ward said this on his twitter page “I appreciate all your support on the WBC situation. In my mind and in the fans eyes, I’m still the champ!!!. We’re gonna keep on working.”
As far as I can tell, the hand injury is already healed and Ward is merely waiting for a big fight to open up for him. It’s only been four months since Ward captured the WBC title from former champion Carl Froch, and he’s still got at least two months to get his title defense in, yet the WBC took the title away from Ward anyway. Why would they do this? To get a sanctioning fee for the Dirrell-Sjekloca bout? That’s what some boxing fans are saying.

Dirrell will no doubt take care of the little known Sjekloca without any problems, but that still doesn’t help Ward. He would then have to face Dirrell, if he can get the fight with him, and fight him for his own title.

It’s strange that the WBC would do this to Ward while allow champions like WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. avoid his mandatory defense against Sergio Martinez. It doesn’t seem right that Ward has to lose his title and Chavez Jr. doesn’t.

He just fought 4 months ago and broke his hand plus he fought in the Super Six. So if you don't respect him it's for a different reason.

He only has himself to blame, honestly. He refused to fight Anthony Dirrell. We knew for about 2 months now that they would strip him. Whats with him and the direll brothers? Just fight!

He still had 2 months to fight him before he was suppose to get stripped

:|... I remember mentioning something like Ward and Martinez not being appreciated by the WBC. Wellll...look at that. Man...what do these guys gotta do? Sure, Ward has been inactive, but come on...the WBC always seems to be making exceptions for certain people.

                  Floyd, Canelo and JCC Jr.
I mean Floyd's keeping his belt despite going to jail!
Per their rules, if a fighter goes to jail, they lose their rankings and if they hold a belt they're to be stripped... THEY'R LETTING HIM KEEP IT!

This ^ The other day, I believe on the 12, he talked about vacating and stated "Anthony Dirrel is like a brother", that it would be a good fight, but not one he wants to do.

Shrug. No Andre, No Anthony, and according to him, no Bhop as well. He's limiting himself.
