If you remember before the 1st Pascal fight he came out to the Paul Anka tune made famous my Frank Sinatra "My Way" which to me sounded like it was his farewell fight...and I think if he had won he would have retired then. But he didn't want to go out a loser and had the rematch and conditioned himself so well for it that he decided he still had it in him to take it to Dawson. That he is talking retirement is not necessarily an indication he is not prepared for Dawson..and hey...how long can he keep doing it at the level that he does? I don't think he wants to be like Holyfield nor does he need the money. He still has his stake in Golden Boy.

I wish I could write a letter to late 90s/early 2000s BHop and tell him that in 10-15 years he will be considered a living legend and almost universally respected. He wouldnt believe it for a second.
