    The current super bantamweight world champion of the WBA, Cuban star Guillermo “The Jackal” Rigondeaux, continues his intense preparation for the first defense of the title that he snatched from Rico Ramos on January 20th in Las Vegas. Rigondeaux is training hard at the Xtreme Boxing Gym in Hialeah, Miami, which is owned by the trainer Jorge Rubio.

        Man let me tell you, that gym is all you see in that picture. Its a small ass garage with one ring and like 3,4 bags.

        But its produced hella warriors. Grew up bout 5 minutes from there. Hairon is just one of them. He's only like 19, 4-0 with 1 draw, a fight he was winning decisively but then got knocked down in the last round.

        He's another name we'll be hearing in the next couple years.

          Can't wait to get back to Florida in a couple of years man.

              Rigo probably feels at home in that gym, since it reminds him of Cuba. lol

              I've caught a couple of Hairon's fights on Youtube. I was disappointed to hear that he drew in his last fight. The kid looks "ok," but it's tough for me to judge, since I'm so accustomed to watching much more accomplished fighters. Still, Socarras is very young; if he stays with it, he could go far. And working with a guy like "El Chacal" can't hurt. It's the experience of a lifetime for a young fighter.
