Comments Thread For: Roach: Peterson Fought Fight of His Life With Khan

Trainer Freddie Roach believes Lamont Peterson produced the 'fight of his life' while taking Amir Khan's world titles, but he expects the Brit to box clever in the rematch. Peterson pulled off a major upset last December when he took the WBA and IBF light-welterweight belts with a split-decision points win in Washington.

I can see why Freddie was a little happy for Lamont considering all 3 of us worked together in the same camp this past summer and everyone one seemed to work well.

I disagree with Roach on that one L. Peterson didn't fight the fight of his life. The fight should have been a draw IMO.

No Peterson didnt. He was the same as always and I actually think he can fight even better. When I say the same, I dont mean that in a bad way. He's a good fighter. Roach mustve underestimated him. Still, Peterson is missing something. He's a very good all around fighter but he should be able to fight better when guys are moving. He just cant get his shots off if guys are moving. If he fixes that then he could be top notch

I agree, Peterson was actually pretty wild and wobbly at times imo, I think he dug deep, but I doubt he fought the fight of his life. He's in his prime, and if he can work on being a little less wild with his shots at times and jab and throw more straight punches I think he will be OK, not a great fighter but I'd say he's B- level..
