I think so, but I doubt that Casamayor would have won or been terribly competitive. Casamayor and Mitchell are 2 relics of Showtime's stable that have fallen precipitously in stature in recent years. Casamayor is slightly fresher than Mitchell, and has won and been highly competitive in big fights. Casamayor's only losses have come against Corrales, Castillo, and Freitas, all fights that went the distance and could've gone either way.
Casamayor has more heart, as is evidenced by going the distance with the 3 aforementioned heavy hitters. While not a big puncher, he does have more pop than does Sharmba. He has more versatility than Mitchell, having the capacity to **** as well as box. I think Mayweather would have had to work alot harder against Casamayor than he did against Mitchell in pounding out a dominant unanimous decision.
I think Casamayor would of been very competitive with Mayweather but then again Casamayor is competitive in every fight. No fighter just blows through Casamayor. It would of went to a decision.
This a fight that should of happened a few years back at 130.
In his prime he would have given Mayweather a very tough fight. Casa had pretty good power and was very slick, while being one of the 5 or 6 best counterpunchers in the sport at the time.
Now he's a shell of his former self. He's slowed considerably and cannot fight 3 minutes of every round like he used to. Father time is catching up with him.
oh *****e! flipmode in the house! hows it going asian
the fight was stopped prematurely in my eyes. yes sharmba was going to lose, but to have it done on someone elses terms was unfair to sharmba. sharmba does have heart - he did get up before 10 and was not on wobbly legs. w/ casamayor being a natural 130lber and floyd fitting in great at 147 (well, fitting in great against another former fellow 140lber) i think that casamayor would have had a harder time in there against floyd.
floyd did look good, i hope the zab fight gets finalized.

You have always been nice to people with down syndrome Baya....good for you!
As for Casamayor...I think you will find that moy boy JL Castillo likes to ruin fighters and in the last four rounds of his fight with Casamayor he ruined him.
We are gonna find the same with Corrales and It hink we have already no that Juan LAzcano will never be the same as well.
Stay away from Castillo and be good to kids with down syndrome!
