Still just called a counter punch or counter right hand (over a lazy jab, etc.)

Boxers have always tried changing the name of a punch or combo, but when announcers play into this they look like jackasses.

Remember the "colt 45" by Delahoya?

Well..to be fair.. Ali WAS pretty fast for his weight lol. I wonder what they'd have thought of Roy Jones Jr in those days.

I see you stole my gif. Great shot by Ali but they called it the phantom punch because nobody saw the punch land clearly, had nothing to do with the fact that it was a right hand counter over the jab.

But than you have Ali who says he learned this punch from Jack Johnson. Ever seen J.J next to Ali? I used to think J.J was taller.

No the term pull counter is emphasized by the leaning back motion and then countering.

Supposedly his heart wasn't in it after the fight got cancelled and moved while getting a bunch of death threats. Seen the movie "phanton punch" about Liston, good movie he pounding some white broad, never heard he was with some white broad.

                    Ok.

And Delahohya's Colt 45' is not an upper-cut, because it was half-hook/half-uppercut.

Hate when Roy tries to change the name on punchs when he is working as an announcer. A fighter naming his own punchs, been done before.
