I like Rogan. The man is obviously a fan of boxing. I have to disagree with his take on Tyson vs Ali though.

I too was around during Mike's prime and we all remember his "aura of invincibility" in the 80s. Mike disposed of many a tomato can and past prime fighter as well as some decent competition too -but nothing touching the golden era of the 1970's heavyweight division. I don't think anybody would confuse Marvis Frazier, Tony Tubbs, Carl Williams, Buster Douglas, or Frank Bruno with Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton, Ernie Shavers, or George Chuvalo.

Joe Rogan seems to think that Tyson's never ending aggression, speed, combination punching, and head movement would've been too much for Ali, that he would get touched up and KO'd within the first or second round.

I could mention Ali's superior footwork, equivalent hand speed and combination punching, superior reach, stamina, killer chin, his JAB... but... I won't.... all of this so obvious...

What about Ali's superior mind? Ali was famous for his ring generalship and adaptability to adjust his game plan. Plus Ali loved mind games and to get inside the head of his opponent.

During Mike's prime, nobody really stretched him to the point where he had to make adjustments, had to recalculate himself and decide if he was really going to commit to fighting for the W. Tony Tucker maybe? But even then nobody made Mike rethink himself...

It wasn't until Buster Douglas that the world saw what happens when Mike's "head just isn't in the game".

Joe, do you really think Ali couldn't stretch Tyson past the first couple of rounds and then make those necessary adjustments in the ring? That Tyson really could've bullied Ali like he was Trevor Berbick?

In my estimation, if they ever met prime for prime, Ali survives early aggression from Tyson in rds 1-3, makes necessary adjustments, and toys with him by the middle rounds -easily stopping Mike late or boxing his way to a unanimous decision. Both of Tyson's eyes would've been welted and bloody from non stop jabs, crosses, and hooks ala Tyson/Lewis in 2002.

He was actually high off weed. Joe and his podcast producer, Brian, usually smoke a bowl before every podcast. Sometimes the guest does it (i.e. Doug Benson, Eddie Bravo, Joey Diaz, Duncan Trussell) with them. Only Doug Benson smokes weed while during the podcast. There was even one episode where Bryan Callen (Mad TV) and his friend couldn't keep a story straight because they were so high.

Joe Rogan is a stand up comedian who interviews fighters.. Do we really need to praise what he thinks...

Rogan = Zero credibility when it comes to boxing, hes just a fan.

Listening to Rogan talk about boxing is as relevant as debating anyone on here about boxing. Dont act like we are some authority on the matter.

Show some respect. No need in bashing Rogan, he showed boxing respect in that clip and he knows his stuff. He is a fan, he didn't bash the sport so calm down.

Rogan used to bash boxing frequently a few years back during the time when he also launched a campaign against supposed "joke thieves" in the standup world. He's become mellower now that he smokes pot regularly and less of an insecure douchebag after his standup career started gaining momentum thanks to the popularity of his podcast.

Uhhh the joke thief you're referring to is Carlos Mencia, and yes he did blatantly steal jokes. So the campaign led the way for comedians to actually have the balls to stand up to joke thieves.
