No he was not. Oscar-Sturm was a Golden Boy and the next fight Oscar-Hopkins was a Golden Boy fight. Hopkins was also on that card fighting Robert Allen. Juan Lazcano another Golden Boy fighter at the time was on that card.

Oscar left Top Rank and started Golden Boy in 2001 then had a short stint back but left permanently after just 2 fights in 2003. The Mosley rematch was the last fight Oscar had being under Top Rank.
