    what a laugh? fear of what?...getting knocked out??...getting knocked out isn't that bad, and especially when it has happened before....why would there be fear?...not to mention the cash on offer.......

    it was simply due....he fought vitali in his worst shape and took all vitali had to offer...period.

        Lewis retired because he knew for a fact that he will lose to Vitali if the rematch were to happen. He didn't want to screw up his legacy and pretty much bitched out. Did Lennox won the first fight? Sure, just look at the damage he did to Vitali's face. Did Vitali deserve a rematch? Yes, he was leading the scorecards at a good margin at the time of the stoppage. A rematch should have been necessary at a condition like this, but it never materialized due to Lennox Lewis not wanting to jeporadize his legacy.
