Comments Thread For: David Lemieux Could Require Surgery on His Right Hand

Middleweight contender David Lemieux (25-2, 24KOs) may require surgery on his right. Lemieux's promoter advised QMI Agency that Lemieux will begin training this week for his ring return. If he experiences pain in his right hand, he will likely undergo surgery.

I had high hopes for him. It's too bad he doesn't react well to being hit, and has no discipline.

Those are two things he can overcome though and he's young. I kinda doubt it but I hope he turns out to be what I think he could have.

Don't put too much stock in his power. Couldn't hurt the only two step ups in his resume and lost those fights. Alcine laughed at his power. Same guy who got knocked out by Angulo in the first round.

I'm still a huge fan of David Lemieux.

He really needs to get back on form though. He's disappointed lots of fans.

He has no plan b for when you handle his power.

            That's a huge weakness.

I like Lemieux. He reminds me of Nigel Benn when Benn was in phase one of his career. Benn was 22-0 with 22 kayos when he ran into Michael Watson & got easily schooled. He learnt that you also need skills to compliment your power & went on to become a great champion (by UK standards). I ain't saying that Lemieux will ever be at Benn's level but it may help him to relocate & just get a couple of tough ten rounders under his belt.
