    Elio Rojas vs Jhonny Gonzales

Fight is coming up in a few days for a WBC strap. Anyone know anything about Elio Rojas?

Rojas was a very dangerous title holder that got derailed by injuries.

No clue what he looks like now.

I'd be surprised if Rojas didn't win.

Yea Rojas has been real inactive only 1 fight each of the last two years.

He was a stud though going to Japan and taking a title out of there is not the easiest thing, and the guy he beat for the strap Ao has not lost since.

He should be a real stiff test for Jhnny Gonzalez

The Ao fight is on youtube, watched it last month. Ao, by the way, is actually really really really good. He dominated. Says a lot about Rojas. I'd expect him to upset Jhonny with superior boxing if he can withstand the power.

Not gona happen gonzalez is one of the best boxers out there. He has fought way better fighters than rojas and has outboxed them all. Never once has he been down on the score cards. His only flaw and a great flaw is that chin.

You're underrating Rojas bro. Rojas will prove to be the better boxer by contrast of styles. The difference maker will be Jhonnys ridiculous power off that hook, which is then countered by him being a bit chinny.

They will both be the same height and i think they share the same reach, the big difference will be Rojas's linky posture. He's got a longer torso and wider shoulders and gets absolute extension on his punches, and will most likely look to counter punch. Something Jhonny doesn't like and hasn't had to tolerate often. He also gets pretty low, which will prove effective for him because jhonny stands very tall. He's got the Nacho fighter stance. That Finito/Marquez-esque posture.

I think people are sleeping on Rojas. The upset is very likely here, very very likely. Not sure how Rojas will look at this level being so inactive either though.

Rojas might be able to outbox him, but I think he is capable of knocking him out also and to me Gonzalez is more vulnerable to get beat that way. His last three loses are all stopages. Plus don't forget this fight is on Gonzalez's turf so he is likely to get the benefit of the doubt should it go to the cards. If Rojas doesn't play to the stoppage he is taking a big risk.

I always liked Gonzalez but those knock outs always give me pause, especially against a guy the caliber of Rojas but I think he will win. I certainly wouldn't be shocked if Rojas found a way to win as he is a stud also.

jhonny will keep him at bay with that great jab. Nd dam didnt know that might be the first time jhonny faces some one as tall as him. But jhonny has fought the best and has shown he can hang with any of them had it not been for his fragileness he would have one of the best resumes. But no one is sleepy on rojas this is a tought fight that should be on hbo I think jhonny has a slight edge but only slightly bc of his great power and has been looking great with nacho

Rafael doesn't list a tv channel for this one on his schedule. Anyone know who's televising this? Is it likely to be on the wbcboxing stream? It's an awesome fight, and the Salgado Honorio undercard should be competitive.
