    Why? He's fine at MW.

It seems like no one else is good enough for him there, in his opinion.

Not surprised. Now Sergio can dedicate all his focus on getting a Mayweather fight for later this year. Forget Chavez Jr.

If Sergio can't land a Chavez fight and Julio goes to 168, and if he can't land Floyd, he still has plenty of fights he can take to make his legacy.

Pirog-Geale winner, Quillin, Golovkin, Murray, etc. He also has 154 lb guys that would surely move up to fight him, like Lara and Trout. If he fought those fights, he will have cleaned out MW and beaten 2 154 lb fighters that seem to be very good. And he only fights 2 times a year, those fights would most likely take him into retirement.

God I hope so. I still doubt Floyd takes the fight though, just my thoughts.

Since Chavez didn't sign the contract, Martinez's focus should be on the winner of Pirog/Geale in the fall.

                Either that or Floyd Mayweather.

Come on seriously, who's surprised? Everyone saw this coming or an injury. That boy Chavez Jr is a damn pu$$ay. We all know this, his dad knows it and Chavez Jr himself knows it.

Here comes Lara vs Martinez before any possible fight for Martinez vs Mayweather.

I highly doubt it. If Martinez was a big name with some sort of fanbase, ability to promote the fight, had a belt, etc. I don't doubt for a second he'd take it.

But, Martinez brings very little aside from being Floyd's toughest opponent since Sugarman.

I would love to see it but I dobut it ever happens. If Pacquiao isn't fighting Floyd next Cinco de Mayo, it will be Canelo, not Martinez standing the ring across from PBF.
