Martinez doesn't want that... he knows Lara would put that work in.

The only luck Sergio ever had in his life is being born with a very very handsome and sexy face.

That sexy face will get beaten to a pulp if he fight Lara in 2013.

Lara is a late bloomer as well but not as late as Sergio

Expect Lara to reach ATG status around 2013-2015
      this is funny
are you the guy who was on Lennox in every thread before?
and anyway, that fight could be good
given the dearth of heat at MW, why not do this?
Lara has a chance if he's in peak form as a MW, which is iffy
not feeling the Martinez hype, a good boxer can beat him

like both fighters a lot, but i don't think this should be made anytime soon, or like next after lara takes care of hearns. martinez just came off of fighting a guy who got robbed in macklin, facing another guy, much less unknown, coming off another robbery wouldn't be too good imo. martinez should be focusing on MW title holders cause his time is ticking. lara should focus on a rematch with molina or perhaps the trout/dzinziruk winner. if alvarez beats mosley and gbp still doesn't make alvarez/kirkland, go after kirkland. another option would be going up to 160 and face peter quillin. i think the winner of that fight (which would be at MW) would be a perfect opponent for martinez afterwards. we'll see what happens, but i think lara should either focus on 154 or fight someone at 160 first. lara should do a little more than just getting robbed against williams and then beating hearns in order to face martinez. dibella and martinez already wasted enough time fighting barker.

Lara could win that one. I thing Sergio is good but he gets sloppy and that would give Lara opportunities all night. Now that I think about it, cuban boxers are due for a break. This fight would do the sport some justice.

You made some great points. 154 is on fire right now. I would kill to see Canelo vs Lara. I think they are the best in that div but most under rate them

Lara has a real shot to beat Sergio. This fight can't happen until at least 2013 though with Sergio fighting in September.

Would love to see Austin Trout fight Lara if he beats Delvin Rodriguez.

Lara with his speed and traps could beat Sergio, a 38 year who relies on reflexes. And Sergio is not that much bigger than Lara IMO. It should be a pretty even match up.

I dunno if Lara would fight Quillin, he reps that Cuban flag. Although he wasn't born there or anything but he still reps it.

Not if he keeps insisting with those tests that Chavez doesn't wanna take. Lara been calling out Trout and just called him a FRAUD on that Ring article. Let's see if Trout mans up this time and takes the fight.

yeah it is, it's one of my favorite divisions to watch. i don't think gbp would make alvarez/lara though. i think they would rather go with molina or even kirkland if alvarez insisted on it. we've seen kirkland get KO'ed in 1 round and then 'outboxed' in another. molina doesn't have the power to ice alvarez and he got dropped by kirkland when kikrland turned it up at the end. i think they'd be more confident in their chances going up against one of those guys rather than lara. i'm fan of both lara and alvarez so i def would love to see it but i don't think they'd do it.

i don't think that would matter to either guy, both lara and quillin are trying to climb to the top. if nobody wants to fight them, i think they would be down for it.

Well, yea if you put it that way. I meant if they had other options to fight, they wouldn't fight each other I think... Maybe that's just how I feel since I wouldn't wanna see 2 Cuban guys fight cause one of them would have to come out with an L unless it's a draw.
