Comments Thread For: Trinidad Worried Mayweather's Speed Overwhelms Cotto

Former three division world champion Félix 'Tito' Trinidad is worried that his countryman, WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs), will get overwhelmed by the speed of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs). The fight takes place on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Every time Tito speaks on Cotto there seems to be a little negativity there. He's not feeling him too much at all I don't think.

Tito really doesn't like cotto. He never really had anything good to say about him, ever. They are two different type of guys.

Tito (and his father) are don't want Cotto to beat Mayweather.

It's becoming obvious. There is always a negative comment from the Trinidad camp against Cotto.

The only way Cotto can win this fight is to stay close to Floyd. His right hand is not his best punch so he has to be on the inside in order to get off that left hook. That being said, Floyd is a faster, slick, counter puncher that can stand in the pocket and exchange with you. I wanna see how Cotto handles Floyds counter right hand on the inside. Cottos face sould tell you everything. If Cotto has the look of disinterest, like most of Floyds opponents, then this fights gonna be over in the first 3 rounds. If Cotto has that hunger, whos knows, maybe hell make a fight out of it.
