I hope, just hope, thats the Cotto that shows up come May 5th, if he wants to stop Mayweather, that left body hook is the game.

Mosley was washed up when he fought Mayweather.

Too many went with what he did to Margo

Margo was reported to be 30-40 pounds over weight like 6 weeks out, he was just a shell of a fighter, it was easy to beat him that night , so much had not gone his way.

Margo was totally different in the fight with Pac

Cotto as one has said has performed better with Diaz and that was in his last fight.

I do believe Cotto's hope is the game plan by Diaz

The new found assurance and confidence

He put it together in his last fight , he should be much better in this coming fight.

No doubt Cotto and Diaz has clicked

the first couple of rounds will be interesting but its not those its the one after those that adjustment that JR will make , can COTTO get thru that ??? IF he does he wins.

I like Diaz and ****m but the trainer doesn't fight in the square circle.
In the rematch, Cotto and Diaz found a way to tie Margarito up. Cotto also pushed him back at times and he stayed off the ropes. He learned and was reminded from his old mistakes. Great adjustment on Cotto!
Cotto definitely showed better conditioning. He is still getting used to his new trainer but you could see the improvement. I have always hated how SLOW Cotto boxed in the gym. No other trainer that he had seemed to pick up on that. If you remember seeing Cotto getting ready for the rematch, he did everything fast. So when he was pushed fast in the real fight, he could respond. Also,Targeting Cotto's eye was also a good plan...It didn't happen by accident.

As for ****m Richardson, he's an excellent trainer. Mosley's two losses against Pac and Floyd had nothing to do with Richardson. Mosley ignored Richardson by looking for that one punch ko against Mayweather all night.
And he got spooked into survival mode against Pac.
I think we all know that trainers can't fight for their fighters in the ring BUT a trainer certainly has a big role in it be it technical, psychological, physical or tactical.

Garcia, Mayweather. Steward and Richardson.
I don't think that Richardson can be put in the same category as the others. He's not that good. Also he had a very bad heart attack, poor guy-and is lucky to be alive-which is why he can't work the mitts or do anything in a gym which needs activity. Not his fault but he shouldn't be working, except as a strategic advisor, which he's good at. Others are doing the same.

I think Cotto is going to break Mayweather down....Floyd seems scared to me, I think he knows that he could lose this fight.

Interesting that Cotto wanted Diaz as his corner man right after he dumped Evangelista but Diaz told him he didn't feel ready to be a pro's trainer.

I wonder how Cotto's career would have turned had he been working with Diaz since then.

This was a great article to read. Cotto is usually so quiet, to see that he's feeling confident and he has worked out what he needs to adjust to be the best fighter he can be against Floyd, makes me even more excited for this fight.

The only thing Cotto and his Coach, Diaz have going is the experience Diaz has with the similarity of the Cuban boxing style and the Mayweather style but it's all on the shoulders of Cotto weather he can execute their game plan against a God gifted boxer like Mayweather, who is now more experience and does not need to move around as much as he use to. By what I saw in the Ortiz fight, Mayweather will beat Cotto. I don't think Cotto has the speed or power of Ortiz.
