Comments Thread For: Photos: Tomasz Adamek, Eddie Chambers Face To Face

The official press conference was held for the highly intriguing heavyweight bout between contenders Tomasz Adamek and Eddie Chambers, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Their crossroads bout carries title fight implications. The winner will be groomed for another shot at heavyweight crown. Adamek (45-2, 28KO) vs. Chambers (36-2, 18KO) will air live as the main event of the June 16 edition of the NBC Sports Network Fight Night series. Undefeated heavyweight Bryant Jennings (13-0, 6KOs) will faces Steve Collins (25-1, 18KOs) in the co-feature.

The scheduled 12-round bout will air live as the main event of the June 16 edition of the NBC Sports Network Fight Night series.

Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday, April 16 at 11AM EST. Pricing is $254 for ringside, then $104, $79 and $54 and are available through Ticketmaster – online at www.ticketmaster.com , on-the-line (1-800-745-3000, or Ticketmaster Express at 1-866-448-7849) and in person at all Ticketmaster ticket centers as well as at the Prudential Center’s box office and its website ( www.prucenter.com ).

Adamek (45-2, 28KO) is coming off of a hard-fought 10-round win over Nagy Aguilera last March in their “Fight Night”-televised co-feature bout in Brooklyn. The fight was his first since a knockout loss to Vitali Klitschko last September in a failed bid to become the first fighter in boxing history to capture world titles at light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight.

Chambers (36-2, 18KO) managed a career-best victory on the road against Alexander Dimitrenko in July ’09, but has endured a series of tough breaks ever since. His own title challenge produced disastrous results as he was uncompetitive over the course of 11-plus largely uneventful rounds before getting drilled and knocked out with 15 seconds to go in the fight. The HW division needs more matchups like this. I've got Chambers by UD.

if they're both at their best, I think Chambers wins a close fight

Chambers has to fight like he did against Dimitrenko, that was a real good performance

Eddie should be fighting in the CW division, he can't take the big guys punches. Having said that, he's facing another CW guy here
This fight can be entertaining ..

This is actually a good HW fight. Makes a case for having a HW and SuperHW division.
