I really think Taylor is the real deal! I think he can beat Hopkins right now. I don't think it will be a blowout because Hop is too good to lose real bad. Taylor beat Joppy even worse then Hopkins did and Joppy ran his ass off. If Taylor uses that awesome jab and speed he will beat Hopkins. Bernard is too slow for Taylor. If Taylor fights Hopkins fight he will lose. Jab and use his youth to move around the ring. Whatever happens this should be a great fight... The passing of the torch!

I think that if Taylor does beat Hopkins, people will say that Hopkins got old overnight.

Yup, same thing will happen if Trinidad (or anyone else, for that matter) beats Hop. I like Taylor and think he has the tools to beat Hopkins right now if they fought. I've never seen Eastman fight so I'm going the safe route and call it for Hopkins but, having seen Taylor, I think Bernard would have a tough time witht the jab and with the speed. Taylor has the power to keep Bernard at bay and be able to fight from the outside where he can use his reach to his advantage.

Same here! I've seen Eastman fight years ago but don't remember how good he was. Taylor and Hopkins should be great.

Joppy was out jabbing Taylor until Taylor started to counter with power shots.....

I think you need to take a closer look on who beat who's ass worst...Joppy got completely dominated in the Hopkins fight and lost every round in my book and his face speaks for the fight itself.

Eastman has a better chance against Hopkins than Trinidad has. Trinidad showed how limited he was when Hopkins shut him out and KO`ed him. Trinidad hasn`t a chance in hell of beating Hopkins and i think it would be a big mistake if Tito fought Hopkins, Tito hasn`t shown anything to suggest he`d win and round against Nard ( he couldn`t even do that the first time ) why is an older, rusty Tito all of a sudden the guy who will beat Hopkins? I am hoping so much that Sturm or Wright some how beat Tito and then he might go away again. Hopkins beat everyone for ten years, Tito lost the biggest fight of his career ( and should have lost to Oscar too if it wasn`t for Don Kings cheating influlance ). Please don`t clown about how Trinidad has a chance, let alone victory!

If Taylor can get in there with a Trinidad or a Vargas and dominate them, then I'll believe in the hype that is Taylor.

Ah, if there is an opposite to a Trinidad nuthugger then you are the paradigm case. You are obviously a Tito-hater. First of all, while Trinidad is an older fighter, Hopkins is older by exactly the same amount. Did you forget to calculate that fact? Also, Trinidad is 8 years younger than Hopkins. B-Hop was 36 when he fought Trinidad and has just turned 40. Those four years, while they haven't shown against B-class and over-inflated fighters (think DLH), take a definite effect on any body and even more on a fighter's body. I thought Hopkins looked slow and old against DLH (whom I had winning the fight by a point up until he got KO'd) and had the fight gone the distance it would've been a very close fight that DLH could possibly have won.

Tito, on the other hand, had 2+ years of rest while Hop kept ****ing it out in the ring. You speak of rust but he didn't show much in his last fight against Mayorga (yeah, an over-inflated welter who was taylor-made for him, I've heard it before). I don't think Trinidad should climb into the ring with Hopkins for his next fight but it should be on his agenda for this year. After B-Hop defends his title against Eastman (assuming he wins, of course) and Tito fights one more time (again, assuming he wins) they should meet up for a final showdown. This, of course, is a no-win situation for Tito because if he wins he would've beat an old fighter in Hopkins (40 years make for no spring chicken) and if he loses he would've lost to the best Middleweight in the world, again.

There is no shame in losing to Hopkins, either. You say that he lost the biggest fight of his carrer but, yet, he had won all previous matches and has gone 2-0 with 2KO's since. Just as there is no shame in Hopkins having lost to RJJ there is no shame in Tito having lost to B-Hop. They both lost to the dominant Middleweight of their time.

Well both fights were almost identicle in dominance. But in the Taylor fight Joppy ran his ass off and didn't even fight in a couple of rounds. Joppy didn't run at all against Hopkins and was dominated. If Joppy doesn't run the rest of the fight with Taylor after the knockdown, he would have been knocked out! And he knew it.

They actually evenly dominated Joppy except for the running.
