Comments Thread For: Dawson: I Need To Take Old Hopkins Out, He Has To Go!

Chad Dawson doesn’t mince words when it comes to Bernard Hopkins.

Dawson respects what Hopkins has accomplished, but he is sick of talking about boxing’s oldest champion. He is just as sick of seeing the controversial legend from Philadelphia, so Dawson views his light heavyweight championship rematch against Hopkins on April 28 in Atlantic City as more than just a second chance to prove he is the better fighter. 2 punches in 2 rounds. That's all you landed big bad Chad. 1 jab and 1 hook. Good luck retiring the oldest ever world champion with that kind of inaccuracy.

Hopkins is too crafty for this kid. Dawson's arrogant attitude is his downfall. He's not showing anything like the smarts required. He has no gameplan other than to be himself - and it won't be enough.

Expect lots of missing, expect Hopkins stealing rounds by landing rights on the way in and roughing Chad up on the inside. Classic Hopkins. It may not be pretty, but to be defending your world championship at 46 going on 47? Incredible.

One last question for the Hopkins haters: wasn't his last 2 fights with Pascal his 2 best for many years? Lots of excitement in them. Who knows, if Dawson doesn't come with MMA moves, maybe we'll get another cracking contest.

Tell Hopkins to stop climbing on fighters backs and he won't get slammed point blank.
Time for his old cheating behind to go. Dawson was whipping that boy and he found a way to quit.
Won't be no quitting this fight.

Don't be too rough with him Dawson or else you might obliterate his shoulder again and he might be out for another 2 months

I like Chad talking like this. Hopkins usually has much to say but has been a bit quite this go round. He knows he's in with the truth now, Bad Chad is gonna take Hopkins out. War Dawson!!

I don't think Dawson was "pleasantly surprised" to hear he'd get another shot at Hopkins. He was unpleasantly surprised. His new title was taken away. One that happened he knew there would be an automatic rematch, which he didn't want, because of the low fan interest.
