Speaking of The Ring, I've had a hard time getting it lately... WHSmiths don't seem to stock it much these days.

No it wont. Taylor scammed the first win and a second is not unexpected to me.....

He has the psychological upper hand. Hopkins knows he has to pull of something above parr by his own standards to even show the judges that he has won. It cant be a close fight. Hopkins has to take that fight convincingly otherwise he will get punished ...... by the judges.

      Ie. Taylor upper hand.

          hmm

What about Taylor getting a decision that no one believes he won anyway? FOTY 2005 material, surely?
I believe you are doing that thing you guys call "taking the piss" (hard to understand this as why would any1 want to take someone's piss lol) but Taylor clearly is a top candidate for the award if he beats Hopkis again. Additionally, it is a falsehood to state that no one believes he won. I believe he won, and based on EVERY poll I've seen, 50% of the hardcore fans agree, with the rest favoring a DRAW or Hopkins. The losers are always the loudest though.

Floyd doesn't deserve it and I don't know why you bring him up.

he defeated the undisputed middleweight champion in a close fight the first time, and if he wins, more convincingly, he should be fighter of the year because he made the biggest impact in boxing this year.

If Lacy had been able to fight Calzaghe he would have a better than decent chance at nabbing it. Whoops.

nobody fought a great fighter more than once this year.

Mayweather = Gatti(not really) Mitchell (washed up)
Hatton = Kostya (yeah) Maussa (tomato can)
Jermain = B-Hop (disputed decision) Edourad (tomato can)
Brewster = Golota (respectable) Kransniki (who ??)
Judah = Spinks (good fighter) Rivera (who??)

Tarver is the only one whos beaten 2 respectable fighters even tho Jones might be over the hill.

if Winky beat Soliman he should be a candidate. Soliman is top 5 in most belts and Winky ****d Tito.

Lennox Lewis was considered in the running for fighter of the year in 1999 and 2000!

I posted a thread earlier today with a poll of who should be fighter of the year. I voted for hatton. Not because he is a Brit but because he beat Zoo convincingly and like Anorak said, captured two thirds of the title in his division. As a result people mocked my vote for hatton claiming Taylor, who could lose on Saturday, deserved it.
