While covering the Brandon Rios-Richard Abril event at the Mandalay Bay this past weekend, I saw a face that looked a little bit familiar.

Having grown his hair out noticeably since his last ring appearance a few months back, it took me a minute to spot former junior featherweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr., but he seemed as upbeat as possible when approached.

Vazquez showed serious grit on February 4th in his bout with Fil-Am star Nonito Donaire in San Antonio, Texas. Despite being rocked in the third round and dropped in the ninth, Vazquez dug down and gave a great account of himself over the second half of the fight, ultimately losing a split-decision. N he was making fun of juanma weeks ago on twitter for his comments saying juanma making excuses n this n that n that he don't make excuses n someone told him when u fought arce u said his hair gel botthered ur vision cause it got in your eyes. So he neefs to stfu juanma would ko him. Already juanma came to win n when he saw his plan to box salido wasnt working he put oit all on the line. Vasquez seemed content to not get kod by nonito n didnt try to win after a couple rounds

He's not even the only PR boxer who commented on Lopez's comments on the ref, Cotto also did. Basically said the same thing Vazquez said.


Anyways, the only thing that caught my attention from this article was that Marquez's next fight is once again on PPV. This sucks, I like watching Marquez fight, but I can not pay $50 for B level match ups. No matter the undercard. I guess Marquez will be a PPV fighter fro now on. Too bad, a lot of people are gonna miss out on see him now. Cause not too many people will buy his PPV's.
