    In close fights........

Do people automatically say the underdog was robbed???? It seems like no matter what, in a close fight, everyone says the underdog was robbed because he did better than people thought he would.

Were talking close fights, not robberies like Rios-Abril, Lara-Williams, or Cloud-Campillo.

Do you feel that in close fights, people seem to automatically say teh underdog was robbed or deserved to win????

But that decision wasn't really in question, everyone thought Maidana won and rightfully so.

I'm just saying in 50-50 fights where it was really close, it seem slike most say the underdog won no matter what, Pac-JMM III for example. That was a close fight, but everyone seems to say Marquez without a doubt 100% won the fight. I think most say that because he did a lot better than expected, the decision could have gone either way, I had it a draw.

not always, it has to be a fight that matters
when stars/champions are fighting an underdog, the sentiment is strong
observers feel bad for a longshot who's in the fight but loses
easy top use the barbs against the favorite for underperforming
people assume the favorite is getting owned since he's not dominating
if it's a fight of no consequence, nobody will really care

I thought Mares won, could be bias a bit though because I like Mares.

That fight (Pac-JMM III) was close, I don't think anyone could say one or the other clear as day won the fight.

Yes. It's how it goes. If it's a close fight, it's a robbery for whoever the person was pulling for the hardest.

                Just the way it goes.

Like Steward said, there's a difference between doing better than expected and actually winning. Sometimes I think that does get lost when an underdog wins a few rounds, shocks some people, and then at the end everyone cries robbery.
