There are many differences between the two. Marquez would have picked Rios apart by using his aggression against him, rather than stinking up the arena by engaging in a hugfest like Abril.
If JMM and Rios do fight and Rios gets dominated but wins a decision I wonder what will be thrown into the ring then? Likely bullets judging from the vibe Marquez fans are giving off after the Pac trilogy those dudes packin' heat next time!! Hey it's possible so JMM better KO him to avoid that fate...

However, Abril has the perfect style and size to school Marquez. No way Marquez would even reach Abril or get past his jab. Can't counter what's not there! Marquez can only be successful against aggressors or poor boxers like Fedchenko.
Marquez may have some trouble with Abril but he would adjust by mid rounds and take it from there......I wouldn't want to see another Abrils fight his boring style is not going to atract any followers.
having said that he did beat Rios rather easy.

They are two diffents fighters, while Marquez will get lure into a slugfest Abril will always keep his cool, I think is what he meant and by the way Marquez fought Pacquio from the outside but he did gave him some chances when he trade with the pinoy...

Like most everyone else, the first time I heard of Richard Abril was when he showed up at the Rios-Gamboa Miami press conference. Right up until the fight, I wasn't quite sure what to make of him as either a boxer or as a man. After watching Abril dominate Rios, and especially after reading the comments in this interview, I've become a fan.

Richie comes across as a smart and ballsy guy. Unless that press conference incident was a set-up, Abril showed guts and smarts by pouncing on the opportunity to challenge Rios. Richard's performance in the fight itself was masterful. I can understand why some people wouldn't like his style and approach, but I think most boxing purists would agree that Abril put on an absolute clinic of the sweet science. Of course, Rios made that relatively easy, since he impersonated a walking punching bag throughout most of the fight.

Now I read Richie's post-fight words and I'm even more disgusted at the treatment he's received. Abril has more class than most boxers can ever dream of. He paid due respect to the legendary Marquez and to the very fighter he literally owned for twelve rounds. No hard feelings, just respect.

Richard Abril is a true champion in every sense. I wish him the very best and look forward to seeing more of him in the future.

I saw him against Lundy and he was robbed, I watch his fight against Prescott a very good boxer-puncher and he was robbed and this now, I think I'm going to stop following him because he get screw it every time, or he has to stop going against a house fighter...
