I don't think that one fight did it, because he was still able to pull the trigger against Oscar, a one fight deal would be something similar to Jeff Lacy who was never the same after Joe Calzaghe slapped him to death. Vargas was still hungry after the Trinidad fight, he was ruined physically after the Hoya fight.

I say after the De La Hoya fight because of the steroids he took it ****ed up his long term health he was never the same, he became sluggish and tired because he developed thyroid and hormonal problems and would pack on pounds like crazy.
