Top Rank and Bob Arum are what is wrong with boxing today

I put more blame on the commisions for not disciplining or getting rid of these judges who continuously turn in these ridiculous scorecards.

I agree that the commissions need to take action on poor judging and refereeing..its one thing for these judges to make one bad decision..but when they're repeat offenders and are still landing huge fights it just doesn't make sense

Big difference between an obvious payoff (Abril/Rios) and a ****ty call based on an actual rule (Kirkland fight) that most refs let slide but this one didnt.

Bob Arum is doing a disservice to the sport that made him rich. I as a boxing fan feel cheated by all of his corruption in our sport. I've been watching boxing for a very long time and consider myself a historian of the sport, and in all of the fights and eras I have seen, Bob Arum is doing more than any other promoter ever to destroy the sport we all love. One or two bad decisions in a row could be a coincedence, however when we get bad decision after bad decision that all seem to favor the Top Rank fighter, I personally suspect foul play. We as fans have got to stand up and do something. This man is delusional, look at the card we had last night. Can you believe that was a PPV event? On top of that we didn't even get a fair decision! I believe we need to run this man out of the sport, he had his time, and made some big names and money. Right now though he is preventing the biggest PPV in history and the fight everybody wants to see all for what is in HIS best interest. Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather want to fight, Bob Arum doesn't want to risk his cash cow, atleast not yet. We have got to give credit to Goldenboy for making fights that fans want to see. When Bob Arum is out of the sport, we will see a lot less corruption in the sport. It is time we take a stand and let Bob Arum and Top Rank know that they are destroying OUR sport! He is not only cheating the fans, but the fighters as well.

I see that you're a Golden Balls fan. To call yourself a "historian" is a bad misuse of the word. Judging by your post you are anything but impartial, and seemingly have no real knowledge of the facts you are carelessly manipulating. I suppose you've bought a few Ring and Boxing Illustrated magazines to "qualify" yourself.

The real reason that Arum is singled out is because he's the most successful Promoter of all time, and because he's a ***. A double combination which badly received in today's world and is lethal in BoxingScene's poisonous atmosphere, where the gaseous mixture is mainly emmitted by poorly paid or unemployed ignoramuses.

edgar, you talk a lot of garbage. by you using the derogatory name "golden balls" you obviously are the one who is biased. i have no favoritism towards any one promoter. second, who do you think you are questioning another posters boxing knowledge? everybody on this forum has their own views/experiences in the sport and are entitled to their own opinions of it. i have met Bob Arum, Oscar de la Hoya and Richard Schaeffer. all three are nice guys in person, however as far as their positions in the sport, i strongly believe that Bob Arum is by far the most corrupt out of the bunch. it has nothing to do with his religion, nor age. it has to do with his obvious fixing of fights involving his golden geese. if you believe that everyone else on this forum are ignorant because we express different opinions than your own, then thats your own issue. perhaps you can create a forum of your own in which everybody will agree with you.
