Aleksandr Bakhtin just scored a near shutout over Cermeno. Getting the fights are gong to be his biggest issue as he fights out of Russia and isn't a big puncher but he's rated in the top 6 by the WBA and WBC. A fight with Nishioka is probably the most likely if he were to get a elite 122lber but Nishioka is 35 and chasing Donaire so perhaps not. Thoughts on Bakhtin in the division.
122lb Thoughs on Bakhtin and the Division

122 is a real solid division but it will be real tough to make waves without him leaving Russia. The Japanese dudes rarely leave Japan but there is good money there so if he wants to really make waves he might want to travel to Japan.
Rigondeuax and Donaire are not likely to travel to Russia either and he would be hard pressed to get those fights even if he was willing to come to the US and I don't know if that would be wise career moves either. Nor Is Mares a likely option either.
He might be able to draw a guy like Tarrazas to Russia if they offere enough bread and that would be a real good test, possibly Montiel, assuming Mijares and Morel lose their fights but perform reasonably well (against Donaire and Mares) I could see them making a trip and could provide a good comparision to some highly thought of guys. Maybe try and draw up a guy like Agbeko.
I am not all that familiar with Bakhtin but he certainly is in a division with quality guys he can test himself against should they be able to line up some of those guys for him.Comment
