Richard Abril should be the National Spokesman for Sleep Train.

I'm a big Rios fan, and yes....Abril held a lot. But he didn't do it nearly as bad or as much as Carlos Molina did.

Abril would stand in front of Rios and hit with a jab/straight right all night long, and Rios would rush in. Abril would stand there and give Rios a shoulder, and just held his right hand up by his face all night, and Rios hit leather all night long. The problem I had with Abril was the constant holding of Rios' arms, that was bulls**t, but again.....not nearly as bad as Molina.

Molina would hit and than hold on to Kirkland, and than hit again. Than, he'd push Kirkland to the ropes while holding his arm, and than hit him again, and hold again. Than, he'd let go and push Kirkland, take a quick step back and hit him, and than went back to holding.

And Rios won 1 round, aybe 2 at the most of those 12. At least Kirkland won 3 of those 10 rounds and was on verge of stopping Molina in the 10th had it not been for Molina holding 16 times that round and grabbing onto the ropes while laying on Kirkland when he was hurt.....and not to metion Kirkland's shoulder was completely busted going in.

Though Abril won on points on my view, I can't stand his constant holding (the ref should have done better, deducting points would have made the fight better). So I won't complain with his loss.

what did the HBO team have to say?

i watched it on a top rank feed. brian kenny, raul marquez, and somebody else. they did a fine job.

i was basically asleep by the end of teh marquez fight, but it had nothing to do with them, it was just a dull fight and it's been a long week.

F**k Brian Kenny though. To be fair, the guy never gives Floyd a fair shake in an interview, and I had NO IDEA he was an announcer for Top Rank. When Floyd fought Judah in Early 2006, he implied that Floyd should be fighting Baldomir and that he was unwilling to fight Ricky Hatton. Than, when he fought Baldomir, he criticized that and asked Floyd if he would finally step up and fight Hatton since Ricky beat Luis Collazo for a title at WW.

The guy just never gives him a fair shake in an interview, at least that's how it seems, and it could have something to do with Kenny being a Top Rank announcer, don't know????

Oh, and I took note. Now we all have a much better idea of Abril's abiity. I'm proud of the kid. Richard worked like a true craftsman against a caveman. Too bad the animals that run the circus we call boxing are ruining his career.
