What do you like about Brandon Rios?

Abril is a class b fighter between cuban camaradas, be serious, he's not Rigo, Gamboa, Solis, Kindelan or even Aragon type of fighters. He can go to Cuba and come back to USA because he´s just a farmer. This is the truth.

The point here is not Abril, here the problem is a pub brawler who fight in a weight division what doesn´t belong to him, and still doesn't worth ****. He was losing every round against Acosta till the venezuelan got caught, but he claims to be mexican, what he is not, and have a mouth bigger than his brain.

What do you like about that mofo, I mean, what can be what makes him gets 500k$ for fighting a class b fighter? Maybe is his Down syndrome? Do you get inspired for a man who go through so tremendous handicap. Here, you have another example

Yet look at the type of opposition he has been able to beat in 21 fights of his career.

If Abril is a B class fighter what does that make Rios? C class? Which will be shown as soon as he steps up in weight. Mark these words.

Abril is a B fighter, he never was in the olympic team or even pan am games defending cuba, not national champion, or I missed something? Can you compare him with the true stars of Cuba? You cant.

Im not arguing that he's not a B fighter but he still finds ways to win and gets shafted in the end. He works with what he has and makes it work. The guy is not sensational but credit has to be given.

The point was, as you pointed out if he's a B fighter what does that make Rios? We can blame the weight all day but we'll see as he moves up not just in weight but opposition as well. Bigger and better boxers than Acosta and Abril up there in 140/147.

Abril won yesterday fair and square, but this is not the point of this thread. What people likes about Brandon Rios? I dont get it. He claims to be Mexican, but he obv is not. He failed to make weight twice in a row. He get ridiculous gifts like yesterday what are a shame for the sport. He disrespect other fighters in a horrible way. What it is what makes him earn so much money and get his name in a PPV along with JMM, no less. I really dont get it.

Rios has certainly been exposed a bit as one dimensional and lacks critical skills. BUT with said, he is typically entertaining to watch. That's what people like about him - he comes forward, brings the action and typically is in good action packed fights.

Brawler type fighters will always struggle with boxers. My man Tavoris Cloud looked terrible against Campillo and also received a disgusting decision, but I still like Cloud. James Kirkland couldn't deal with the smothering tactics of Molina and get a BS stoppage victory, I'm still a fan though.

Robberies suck. It hurts the fighters reputation. Worse though obviously are the guys that get robbed. Abril will have a hard time getting a big fight any time soon. Same goes for Campillo and to a lesser extent Molina.

I give you that, but we, as fans, should give another level of thinking on that. A brawler have a big advantage when have 20 pound on another fighter. The fact Rios fail to make weight not one, but twice in a row, how can you support that bully? To give perspective, Carmen Basilio was a going forward, pressure fighter, he was welterweight champion and moves to middleweight to beat SRR on points. This has merit, but Rios, who obv is a welter fighting lightweights? You have to be more ******ed than Brandon to admire that.

                    Very little.

He's an average, plodding fighter with no defence and little skill. He also happens to lack class and fights in a division too small to get advantages. Even then, he couldn't get past a B-class fighter at the lower weight (which again, he failed to make) without a robbery.
