It's not EASY AT ALL to get to the states legally. It's hard to explain, there's plenty of ways you could try and do but it's not 100% sure that you will get accepted.

ONE example is, I could claim my dad (who is in Cuba) and he will get accepted 100% but when my grandma tried to claim one of my uncles it didn't work and he had to defect on a boat to get here.

**** is complicated and Im too lazy to type it all out. But Castro will never let ANY athlete wether it's a boxer, baseball or volleyball leave the country because they bring more power to the country in the Olympics. My guess with Abril is, since he never participated in the Olympics that's how he was able to leave the country legally. Because he was a "nobody" probably the wrong choice of word but yeah.

I'd rather see him fight another boxer type actually.
The Boxer v Brawler scenario gets played so often why not Boxer v Boxer would it be anymore boring than a brawler getting neutralized at least another boxer would have the savvy to adjust or change up and show if he's versatile if needed.
Linares sounds like a interesting match-up if not him there's plenty of other good younger LWs, given the obvious dubiousness of the decsion Abril should be able to get some support for another shot at that belt which is still vacant

interesting, thanks man. I didn't even know what Abril was doing was possible at all 'till yesterday, certainly seems rare & difficult to pull off.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised at that too. I always thought competing in sports as a pro basically cut you off from returning to Cuba.

I'd love to see him fight DeMarco or Linares. Or even Burns because I think he's overrated right now.
