What if Morales fought Hamed instead of Barrera?

Would Morales have tasted the canvas for the first time cause of his willingness to trade? Would Hamed been knocked down and out for good? I think it woulda been a heck of a great match.

I think you would get a similar result because Hamed wasn't taking boxing seriously anymore. when you do that, the last thing you want to do is go up against a tough ass mexican who trains like a mad man. Morales would have won a ud as well

I always thought this would have been the much better match up because Morales would have been more apt to fight Hamed as oppose to outbox him.

I think Morales would have punished Hamed a lot worse then Barerra did and quite possibly knock him out. Hamed and his balance problems would have led to more then one knockdwon for sure at the very least.

Hamed may have landed a few more shots then he did against Barerra but would have been flat out BEATEN UP.

Interesting. Barerra definitely did not pursue Hamed when he caught him. Each time Morales landed a good shot, you can bet he would have kept throwing as Hamed was off balance and backing up, not giving Hamed a chance to reset.

i think that Morales would've mauled Hamed. just for the fact that he is more of a gutsy fighter. not saying MAB is a softy, but Morales likes to make fights gritty. he doesn't fear anyone and he lives by that in and out of the ring.
like when he fought Manny and turned to southpaw in the 12th rd, he wanted to exchange with Pac just to prove to the people how tough he is. he got rocked but he took it and gave back, finished the fight on his feet and got the win....
Hamed would have put up a good fight, i would have loved to see it....

Yeah, this is what got me thinking about if Morales had fought him instead. I had rewatched the fight yesterday and kept getting annoyed how Barrera had him badly hurt at times and never followed up. Even the crowd was wondering at times was wondering, what the hell? Of course it was a smart gameplan by Barrera, I would have loved to see Hamed get KOed rather. I think Morales would have definitely finished up on Hamed and had the chin which is better than Barreras' to take his shots.
